What this website collects

This website has no sign-up and no account, and it never asks you to type in your details. The home page has a message builder: the choices you tap only pre-write a WhatsApp message, and nothing is sent until you send it yourself in WhatsApp.

Every page loads Google Tag Manager (container GTM-TQN7TZX7), which runs Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-2CWD6ND3QW). Acclaira, the agency that built this website, set them up for Byte Bunny. They count visits, which pages are viewed and how they are used, and clicks on the WhatsApp, call and email links. As on any website that uses Google Analytics, they also record your device and browser type, your approximate location (worked out from your IP address) and the website or search that brought you here. They do not record your name.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser, such as _ga, to recognise a browser that comes back. They hold a randomly generated ID, not your name. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Each page you open is sent to you by the company that hosts this website. Its servers log the request: your IP address, your browser and the page asked for.

Contacting Byte Bunny is voluntary. If you choose to, by WhatsApp, by phone or by email, the message you send, with your name, number or email address, reaches Byte Bunny through that service. If you do not, you can still use the whole website.

Who else receives your data

• Google Analytics

The analytics, on every page, through Google Tag Manager.

  googletagmanager.com · google-analytics.com

• Acclaira

The agency that built this website. It can see the same analytics on Byte Bunny's behalf.

• The web host

The company that hosts this website receives each page request, with your IP address, your browser and the page asked for, and keeps them in its server logs.

• Facebook and YouTube

On the home page, pressing play on one of our how-to films opens it in a pop-up that loads Facebook's or YouTube's own video player. From then, that service receives your visit as its privacy policy describes, and it may set its own cookies. Elsewhere on the site, our films are links that open on Facebook or YouTube.

  facebook.com · youtube-nocookie.com

• Google Maps

On the Contact page, the map loads from Google Maps only when you press “Show the map here”.

  google.com/maps

• WhatsApp, run by Meta

When you message Byte Bunny on WhatsApp.

  wa.me

• Byte Bunny's email provider

When you email Byte Bunny, your email reaches Byte Bunny through its email provider.

Google and Meta are based outside Malaysia, so data that passes through their services may be processed outside Malaysia. Links to Facebook, YouTube and Google Maps take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.

Why it is used

Byte Bunny uses what you send to answer your enquiry. The analytics show Byte Bunny, and Acclaira on its behalf, how the website is used: which pages are visited, and which contact links are clicked.

Your rights

Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709) gives you rights over personal data that a business holds about you, including asking for access to it, asking for it to be corrected, withdrawing your consent, and asking that it not be used for direct marketing. The Department of Personal Data Protection explains the Act. To ask Byte Bunny about your data, email info@byte-bunny.com.
